The North Face
The North Face started in San Francisco in 1966 as a climbing shop. It is great at the Nuptse and the Mountain Jacket, city uniform as much as alpine kit. Fun fact: it is named for the coldest face of a mountain, which is both poetry and a warning about what the cloth is supposed to do.
