Carolina Herrera showed her first collection in New York in 1981 after Jacqueline Onassis and others urged the Venezuelan socialite to design. It is great at polished eveningwear and the white shirt. Fun fact: her crisp shirting obsession came from her own uniform; the runway just scaled it.
