Loewe began in Madrid in 1846 as a leather collective. It is great at Spanish craft plus Jonathan Anderson’s wit: the Puzzle bag, the balloon-pump, the show-as-art. Fun fact: a 19th-century Madrid leather house became one of the most culturally sharp brands of the 2010s because a Northern Irish designer treated craft as play.
