Nigo founded A Bathing Ape in Tokyo in 1993 after the Ura-Harajuku scene. BAPE is great at turning camo, shark hoodies and baby-milo graphics into a full street-luxury language. The first explosion was the camo hoodie and the Bapesta sneaker. Fun fact: the shark hoodie was originally a small-run piece; it became one of the most bootlegged garments of the 2000s.
