Lee Alexander McQueen launched his label in London in 1992 after a Savile Row apprenticeship and Givenchy. He is great at savage romantic tailoring. Early provocations like “Highland Rape” and the bumster trouser made him infamous; the skull scarf and armadillo shoe became pop icons. Fun fact: McQueen trained on Savile Row as a teenager, which is why even his wildest shows sit on impeccable pattern-cutting.
